Recently Google has enabled the option for multiple sign in to some limited Google products or services simultaneously / at the same time.
You can enable this option in Google accounts settings and toggle between to acounts in a same window or use in separate tabs in a same browser.

At this time maximum three accounts is permitted to log in to Google services or products
lists of Google products or service enabled for multiple log in
At this time only limited Google services are permitted to multiple log in.below is the list of Google products that is enabled for multiple log in in the sane browser.
- Calendar
- Code
- Gmail
- Reader
- Sites
- Voice
Toggle between your account or in different tabs
While activating and using multiple log in option , you can click to toggle between accounts or use different accounts in separate tabs.
When you say a small rectangle , than multiple log in option is enabled.
Warning -multiple log in limitation
If you enable or use multiple log in option some products will be disabled-
- Offline Gmail.
- If you use Offline Gmail, make sure to sync your offline mail before enabling multiple sign-in so you don't lose any messages in your outbox.
- Offline Calender
- Any Browser bookmark , you have linked to your accounts.
Multiple log in is not available for all user
Well until now multiple log in is enabled for only desktop users that is
- Multiple log in is not applicable for [* yet]
- Mobile browser
- Google apps users
