5+facts you should know to choose layout for blog.

Which layout is suitable for my blog? Thats a good and important question.As for blog optimization layout plays an important role.

The first thing in blog is its post column.Its the wider and other column hold gadget and links etc.

There are several layout options for blogs.3 column,2 coloumn etc.Again for 2 column layout post column may be in left side or right side.

In my opinion ,The best layout is the 2 column and the post column will be in right side.plus top element should be as less as possible(simple link navigation is recommended there.)

1.How webpage and blogs is crawled

For search bot of yahoo,google and MSN and also for ads bot-the rule is to crawl a page from top to bottom.At first the top element will be crawled then the left column as it comes next,then middle column and so on .

2.Two column layout is seo friendly

In fact blogs are different then general website.Its a hybrid type web application.

And For better SEO the the important part of the webpage must be placed above as possible.The search bot when scroll through the webpage or blog it starts from the top.

If you place a 3 column layout and post column is in middle,search bot or ads bot will see the the top left column first then the post.Its bad ,as the left column is same for all post page.

3.better loading time

The loading time must be 2 to 3 sec! Its a better practice.But how as there are lots of people browsing with low speed connection.it is still possible.

The technique is that load first the eye catching part and keep the reader busy with satisfaction while you got time to load the rest of heavy parts.

And in blog the eye catching part is the post.So if the post is placed in left side,it will load first within 5 sec then the heavier parts is placed below the post or in right side column may take minutes to load.No problem.as the reader is now busy with the post page.

Its a good practice to place heavier part (image,javascript etc) in right side or below the post.

4.Optimization for serp

SERP or search engine result page is important .

For Blogspot in serp the title is shown and then below description is taken from 2 to 3 lines.But I had seen lots of incident that,the tile is shown but below description is the text or link from top page element or from right column.

So the right practice is to place the post in right side and also the top element must as less as possible.Only links is recommended there.

5.Cleaner view and user friendly

As blogs looks like a diary so most reader feels comfortable with the post in left side and navigation and other objects in left side.
