A closer look at blogspot blogger template

Blogspot blogger is a great interface for blogging though with its lots of limitation.But with little effort you can make it look like pro.

Unlike other blogging platform blogpot allows you to dig through template code and edit and add code as you like.Wordpress charges a good amount to let you do this.

I always tried to make my blogspot blog look like a pro,could not be contained with what is available,tried to make experiment.Here is what I got from experimenting the blogspot template.

At first safety-Backup template plus safety measure

Download template, watch preview ,clear edit

As this is about editing and adding of blogspot template any thing might happen and then you ,might not recover the old template.

So it is wise and good practice to always back up befor doing anything with blogspot template.In fact its better to backup regularly and store it in a safe place.

Backup blogspot template:

From your dashboard design- Edit HTML >> Download template.

Preview and discard changes of blogspot template:

If you add something new in blogspot template alwys check preview first.

If there are any error or you don't like to keep the new addition then discardf the edit,thats it.

1.Adding a new item above post title beside Date

I have date item of published post above post title,a new item can be added above post title and beside date.

Generally social share button or adsense link unit(468by15) is suitable in this area,But its up to you.

How to do this:

b|Place your item code in span or outside of span.
